Climatology, Bioclimatology and Vegetation Cover: Tools to Mitigate Climate Change in Olive Groves

چکیده
This work establishes the relationship between bioclimatology and agronomy. Bioclimatic indices are obtained for several areas under olive cultivation correlated with yields. Due to effect of climate change on high economic losses it produces, we propose a sustainable development model territorial classification crops based bioclimatic knowledge. diagrams prepared provide information water stress in so that irrigation can be carried out at most effective time, measure has been shown lead energy savings growers. In addition this model, application non-aggressive techniques such as use living plant cover ensure protection soil avoid due irregularities. Sustainable biochar to mitigate global climate change
Production of biochar (the carbon (C)-rich solid formed by pyrolysis of biomass) and its storage in soils have been suggested as a means of abating climate change by sequestering carbon, while simultaneously providing energy and increasing crop yields. Substantial uncertainties exist, however, regarding the impact, capacity and sustainability of biochar at the global level. In this paper we est...

The increase in atmospheric concentration of CO2 by 31% since 1750 from fossil fuel combustion and land use change necessitates identification of strategies for mitigating the threat of the attendant global warming. Since the industrial revolution, global emissions of carbon (C) are estimated at 270F 30 Pg (Pg = petagram= 10 g = 1 billion ton) due to fossil fuel combustion and 136F 55 Pg due to...
متن کاملManagement to mitigate and adapt to climate change
Management decisions both at the field and off-site have the potential to contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation. Climate change threatens to increase the potential for soil erosion, reduce soil quality, lower agricultural productivity and negatively impact food security and global sustainability, making it one of the most severe challenges we will face in the 21st century. This...
متن کاملMarine reserves can mitigate and promote adaptation to climate change.
Strong decreases in greenhouse gas emissions are required to meet the reduction trajectory resolved within the 2015 Paris Agreement. However, even these decreases will not avert serious stress and damage to life on Earth, and additional steps are needed to boost the resilience of ecosystems, safeguard their wildlife, and protect their capacity to supply vital goods and services. We discuss how ...
